The breeders

     The G.I.E. « Génération Salers » group together 62 breeders passionate of genetic. All of them are registred to the Herd Book Salers and participate to many shows (The Agriculture show in Paris, the Breeding show of Cournon, the National Salers show and locals show).

     Majority of breeders own family farm situated in montain area (between 600 and 1200 meters) in the Salers bredd cradle : the Cantal.

     The size of farms is quite important for our area :  115 ha and 80 cows. Those breeders are trading bulls, heifers, embryos and semen from our grouping bulls.

     The G.I.E. «  Génération Salers » is registered to the U.P.R.A. Salers.

Objectives

 Ø Buying bulls from the better and the older breed line who has done their proves in the breeds (indexed in farms) to diffuse it by A.I in France ant in the world in order to :

       - conserve and improve the maternals qualities (fertility, easy calving, milkink quality)

       - valued the tardif breed line (breeding types)

       - widen the supply of A.I in difusing a new genetic

 Ø Take of the semen with zootechnics and sanitary norms for European Community and few other countries.

 Ø   Making the sire able to compare yours progeny with his index. In using 7 straws from the last bull bought, in the breeds registered in the G.I.E. « Génération Salers ».
